Essay Topics to Get Your Students Writing

Essay Topics to Get Your Students' WritingAny writing teacher worth his salt will tell you that essay topics vary on a month to month basis. One person may know all about seasonal subjects, and another person may know all about the latest in Hollywood or fashion.A holiday, such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and New Year's, may be filled with story lines and political themes, but one person may know more about current events than someone else who knows nothing about the holiday. Of course, the Holidays are also filled with other things that cause people to talk and discuss, and the topics are never limited to one topic.Of course, most students find a topic they really like and can think of a good ending to their assignment. However, a student who needs help might just ask a teacher about the topic, but sometimes it is the other way around.Thousands of essays are written each year for hundreds of subjects, and we all have a pretty good idea of what is popular. It would be hard to imagine that the Vietnam War won't be a top ten topic again this year, since the class was on it last year.Another day, the topic will be what the weather is like outside, the food in the classroom, the weather in the spring, the weather in the fall, school topics that are useful to students and do not contain political in them, or that would cause the teacher to be too overbearing. Students should look for essay topics that interest them, as well as that have a strong beginning and ending. However, a student may find something they like that they did not even know existed, and it could change the way they look at their assignments.Students should know that they do not have to do everything that the teacher wants them to, and some things they will want to do themselves. They should always write their own essay, and in addition, they should include their own opinions and experiences.Students should also be clear on the rules before the assignment is due and work out how t o handle the written assignment. It is hard enough for most students to start writing an essay, and a lot of times students find themselves stumped or thinking it is so easy that they are going to blow it off. These writers may want to find out what the rules are, and then come up with some interesting ways to make a story that makes sense, rather than just being creative and pushing the limits. They should then sit down and figure out how to use their piece of paper to write their paper so that it fits the rules, and then turn in the essay to get the reward they want for writing the essay.
